Easiest software for gamemaking and animating.
« on: July 18, 2014, 04:00:12 AM »
Like the title states, i'm interested in making games with stock models but custom animations.
The most important question is of course what animation software to use. I have heard that Poser and Daz3d are both easy, what do you guys suggest?
And the next thing is of course the engine. Unity and Unreal seem both popular, but what are the pros and cons? And which is better for a beginner?

I cant get to my PC for a couple days, so i cant try them now.

UE4's environments are a lot nicer looking but it takes a lot of computing power to run the games.

You can get free models from here http://tf3dm.com/3d-models/characters but they are pretty hit and miss.

Daz Studio has better models but all the content is expensive and you have to pay extra if you want to use it in your games. https://www.daz3d.com/get_studio

For the animations you want to download some already made ones from render erotica and modify them to make them better and in different positions.

Thanks for the answer.
But i dont want to rely on premade animations, so i'm looking on information on animating from scratch.
I'm sure i can find some models for practicing. I will look at the pricing if i get something worth releasing.
How high are the UE4 requirements? I have a 750ti but i will update it at somepoint.

You should be fine for the editor. My laptop runs the editor fine just if the model detail is really high then the game wont run very well when you go to play it.

I have ret to come across a decent tutorial for animating with the latest Daz software. If you find a good tutorial don't hesitate to post it.
