Unity MMD Plugin blendshapes
« on: February 03, 2015, 06:48:08 AM »
Yo,

So I'm using stereoarts' MMD plugin which is amazing.

Buuuuut it only seems to import 50 blendshapes of a model in a random order. This is a bit of a problem when the model you're using has way more than 50 and you need most of the ones that are missing. As an example: a model has a blendshape for her clothes so you make her naked. Once imported however the slider might not have been imported and therefore she'll stay clothed. Given the nature of the animations I'm aiming at, this is unfortunate, to say the least.

Is there a way around this?

It seems like the plugin is kind of crap at importing morphs in general. I, too, would be interested in any solutions to this problem. MocuMocuDance also has this issue, though they're probably not related.

Ideally, I'd like to see a proper Oculus plugin for MMD itself (i.e. move the camera output, properly distorted, to the Rift). MMM has Rift functionality, but I'm pretty sure it's intended for the DK1 since I haven't gotten it to work on my DK2. I also want the ability to create a "hard save" in MMD, where I end up with a single file that contains all the effects/models/motions/etc for the scene, so that somebody with a Rift could just download the single file and experience it on their headset.

The first one might happen, the second one almost certainly will not due to the culture of the MMD community.

You might be able to delete some morphs you don't intend to use in a PMX editor (to get you under 50 or whatever).

Neat. Gonna try that.
